this very informative and hands on presentation. Having been successfully

was life truly like during one of our nation?s most turbulent
times in history? Music of the Civil War; This program
offers first hand accounts of what life was like through the songs
written commemorating the battles, ideas, thoughts, and patriotism
of the Civil War. Hear alternate versus to the popular "war"
song "When This Cruel War Is Over" penned by an African-American
soldier from the famed 54th Mass. Colored Regiment, "Down
In Charleston Jail." Discover which industries flourished
during this most turbulent time. Join us in sing along of some
of the better known tunes of the time. This program is also presented
in period costume.
